Our History

Dr. Smith started ECLAP in 1981 out of the garage in his Santee home.  He moved the practice to Blossom Valley in 1983, and in 1987 the construction of a new barn was completed which still serves as the office and hospital. Dr. Smith ran the practice alone until 1983. Dr. Chandler came onboard in 1987 and the two doctors ran the practice for another 5 years until 1992 when they began to hire more veterinarians. Today the practice has four veterinarians covering all areas of East County.
