Alcyen Johnson was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California. She earned her BS in agriculture and animal sciences from Chico State in 2011 and completed a post-graduate internship with AgriBeef Co. at their El Oro cattle feeding division in Moses lake, WA. Shortly after, she decided to pursue veterinary medicine, and being a life long beach enthusiast, what better place to study than Ross University on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Kitts and Nevis. Her clinical year was completed at the University of Illinois. Following graduation, Alcyen completed a rigorous one-year internship with Peninsula Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Menlo Park, CA.
Dr. Johnson’s professional interests include emergency medicine, lameness, dentistry, reproduction, geriatric wellness, and hopes to bring additional certifications to ECLAP through continuing education. She believes in open communication, collaboration, and helping clients better understand their animal’s medical needs. In her free time, Alcyen enjoys sports, horseback riding, art, traveling, and hiking or beach adventures with her border collie, Dexter.
