Irene is a San Diego native who has been in the veterinary field since 2007. Ever since she was a little girl, it was clear she wanted to help save animals by playing “doctor” on her stuffed animals, and wanting to bring home every animal she laid eyes on. She graduated Mesa College’s Veterinary Technician program with an Associate’s Degree of Science in Animal Health Technology and became an RVT in 2013. She has experience in Emergency, Shelter, Avian/Exotic/Pocket Pets, and Zoo medicine. Her passion is anything challenging, but has a soft spot for any puppy she sees. She grew up with Great Danes and other large breed dogs, pocket pets, and riding horses. She has a beloved Great Dane named Shark who she loves adventuring with. Some of her favorite hobbies include hiking, target and trap/skeet shooting, horseback riding, painting, antiquing, traveling, spending time with her family, and more.
